As a progressive, leading civil engineering firm built on the strong foundations of our unique history, we engage, enable and empower our people to be better. With you, we are altogether stronger in building the future we want.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Corporate Communications Advisor to join our team for a contract role until March 2026 to cover a parental leave period. By blending content creation, brand management, and visual/digital marketing expertise, you will play a key role in delivering organisational objectives and providing generalist communications advice.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate communications professional who recognises the strategic importance of internal communications in driving employee engagement and organisational success. Key accountabilities:

  • Implement internal communication and employee engagement activities to exemplify our employee value proposition and drive engagement.
  • Create compelling stories to engage internal and external audiences through written, video, and graphical content.

  • Create and update digital content across our new media platforms.
  • Develop multi-channel content to increase awareness of Seymour Whyte's employer brand.
  • Prepare consistent and engaging presentations for business updates across all sites.
  • Administer the intranet, including content creation and reviews/audits, to align with business needs.
  • Monitor and report on service delivery metrics, overall performance, and effectiveness achieved.

Key requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or significant experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of marketing and communication principles, including digital marketing, content planning, public relations, and communication strategies.
  • Proven experience managing brand strategies and internal communication channels.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • High-level initiative, problem-solving, and negotiation skills to achieve positive stakeholder outcomes.
  • Experience with an understanding and knowledge of web (intranet) environment practices.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • At least five years' relevant experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills are an advantage.

We have a range of additional benefits available for our employees:

  • Health & Wellbeing – discounted health insurance, seasonal vaccinations, wellness discounts, fertility benefit and employee assistance program (EAP).
  • Time for life / Work life balance – birthday leave, purchased leave program, paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
  • Financial wellbeing – competitive remuneration, annual performance bonuses, salary continuance insurance and employee share program.
  • Career development – training, mentoring programs, and leadership development program.

Many of our projects are located in regional areas, therefore, all applicants must hold a current Driver’s Licence and have their own transport.
