The Business Services team has an exciting opportunity for a Finance and Administration Manager to join the team at the Brisbane Youth Detention Centre.As the Manager of the finance and administration team you will lead, manage and oversee the administration function of the Youth Detention Centre to ensure day to day financial, physical and support resources are managed dynamically and professionally to align with department priorities.
This role must promote open communication, continuous improvement and agility in the Finance, Administration and Procurement services of the centre and develop innovative approaches that define best practice and achieve efficiencies.
As the Manager Finance and Administration, you will have responsibility for the following:
- Live the Qld Public Sector and organisational values to achieve outstanding outcomes for the organisation and young people.
- Lead and develop staff in the provision of services to the centre encompassing area's including finance, administration, records management, procurement, and stores.
- Coordinate acquisition, disposal, and maintenance of the Department's physical assets (other than land and buildings) in a cost-effective manner which minimises life-cycle costs and maximises the utility of the asset to the Department's core business.
- Support the Manager of Business Support Services in preparing annual estimates, center budget, cash flows, and expenditure targets for each fiscal year, including providing information on budget allocation for the Youth Detention Centres. Develop and oversee systems and processes to facilitate reporting on assets, finance, and administrative matters across Detention Centres.
- Implement and maintain governance frameworks to ensure adherence to public sector regulations, standards, policies, and procedure related to financial and administrative resources while offering expert guidance to address organisation challenges, fulfill financial responsibilities, and enhance service delivery.
- Lead and drive team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives, to align resources to deliver high quality, efficient and compliant advice, services, and a positive customer experience.
- Develop, manage, and maintain effective customer relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to balance competing priorities, gain support and increase commitment to service delivery excellence.
