The Supporting Recovery program will deliver Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence (FDSV) trauma-informed mental health care services within Southwest Sydney to support victim-survivors in their longer-term recovery.

This role will report to a Clinical Lead, with both full and part-time (3 days / week) opportunities available. The role will be based in Fairfield LGAs, there may be some requirement to work outside of standard business hours depending on client need.

Key elements of the service include:

  • Victim-survivors of FDSV and their families have access for up to 2 years to evidence-based trauma informed mental health care.
  • Provision of psychological therapies and other appropriate wellbeing and social interventions.
  • Collaborations with other services to facilitate coordination of care and assist with referral pathways.
  • Community engagement activities to increase community awareness.

What you’ll be doing…

Some of your responsibilities will be:

  • Providing trauma-informed mental health care services to victim-survivors of FDSV for up to 2 years
  • Ensuring services are welcoming, accessible, compassionate, person-centred, trauma informed culturally safe and inclusive of all who present. Including perspectives of First Nations peoples, people with disability, members of LGBTQIA+ communities and people from CALD communities
  • Ensuring information and education that is delivered meets the needs of clients
  • Actively participating in individual and group supervision
  • Effectively collaborate with Anglicare colleagues when appropriate
  • Attending professional development activities
  • Ensuring services are consistent with the Supporting Recovery Model of Care

What you will need…

To be a successful candidate you will have:

  • Tertiary degree qualification applicable to role – i.e. psychology, counselling, social work, nursing or similar
  • 2+ years’ experience working in Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence setting is essential
  • Registration with relevant professional body – I.e. minimum level 2 ACA, PACFA provisional, APHRA, AASW mental health social worker accreditation
  • Previous experience working in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) contexts
  • Established experience working with clients experiencing mental health challenges and FDSV (mandatory)
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to appraise and critically reflect on clinical work and participate in clinical supervision
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and WWCC.
