iPlay is Australia's leading entertainment centre operator. We're actively creating FUN at over 24 locations Australia-wide and expanding constantly. But we're more than just your average workplace. The iPlay Australia family is looking to grow our Finance Team to match our recent expansion, and we're seeking several additional accountants and bookkeepers to manage our venues and our reporting obligations.
THE TEAM
As the result of an internal move, an exciting opportunity has become available for a high performing Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to join our Finance team.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Financial Controller has responsibility for managing the financial close for our Business's general ledger, enabling timely and accurate reporting for month end, half year and year end.
The role is responsible to ensure all accounting, compliance activities and month end controls are efficiently managed to timelines.
THE PLAYER
Successful Players will:
* Manage the financial operations team including AR/AP purchasing, month-end processing, and tax compliance (FBT, BAS, PAYG, GST, IAS).
* Fulfil all regulatory reporting requirements and lodgements including ATO and ASIC.
* Report and analyse - prepare monthly management reports with variance analysis at appropriate levels; balance sheet reporting and reviews; cash flow forecasting; provide senior stakeholders with sound financial advice.
* Manage statutory, financial, and consolidated P&L reports, provide accurate and timely commercial insights.
* Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
* Collaborate with the leadership team to gather essential data for long-term, annual, quarterly, and monthly budgeting and forecasting.
* Monitor financial performance against forecasts and budgets, analyse variances, and evaluate key performance indicators.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the team.
* Oversee treasury function and cashflow reporting
BI implementation Experience using a BI Tool would be advantageous.
Requirements / about you
* Financial Controller experience of at least 2 years within the previous 5 years.
* CA/CPA qualification with 5+ years’ experience.
* Proven experience in similar accounting roles preferably within a retail environment.
* Strong prioritisation skills, capable of handling complex tasks.
* Respect for the confidentiality of sensitive information.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Ability to work autonomously and lead teams.
* Experience in and understanding of SME/family businesses.
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
