The Department
OGIA is an independent office housed within The Department of Local Government, Water and Volunteers (DLGWV) at the forefront of driving sustainable growth across Queensland. The Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment (OGIA) undertakes cumulative assessment and management of groundwater, and subsidence, impacts from coal seam gas and mining development in Queensland since 2010 (www.ogia.water.qld.gov.au)
The Role
Operating from within the Office of Groundwater Impact Assessment (OGIA), you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of high-level executive and strategic support functions to senior management. This includes responding to requests for information and the coordination of business and corporate activities on behalf of OGIA.
Key Accountabilities:
• Drive the development and delivery of corporate and strategic services, providing high-level advice to senior management on strategic and corporate matters, including budget, resourcing and business risk.
• Participate as an active member of the management team, initiating, leading and progressing special projects as required.
• Action urgent and sensitive matters on behalf of senior management, using effective leadership skills and persuasive communication to achieve critical business outcomes.
• Maintain current knowledge of portfolio issues, priorities and policies to ensure that the planning and delivery of activities are aligned and co-ordinated with the government's and department's strategic direction so as to maximise service delivery.
• Lead implementation and coordination of planning and reporting frameworks on behalf of senior management, ensuring alignment with Queensland Government priorities, DRDMW Strategic Plan, Service Delivery Statement, divisional and business group Business Plans.
• Monitor and analyse corporate and performance reporting, providing advice to the management team on areas of risk and opportunities for improvement.
• Proactively review and implement new strategies and processes, engaging staff using appropriate change management techniques to achieve successful outcomes on behalf of senior management.
• Foster networks and business relationships with departmental staff at all levels, clients, stakeholders, and other Government agencies.
• Lead and coordinate a range of diverse and often ad hoc organisational activities and projects that include analysing complex issues, collating data from a range of sources, preparing correspondence, reports, and submissions of a complex, confidential and substantive nature.
About You
• Utilise your corporate services and project management experience in finance reporting, dashboards, budgeting and financial performance management.
• Experience in the use of Microsoft Office, Office 365 and SAP would be highly regarded.
• The ability to lead and manage employees with high level stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
