About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team in our head office in Surry Hills. This full-time role is ideal for someone who is highly analytical, commercially astute, ambitious, eager to learn and passionate about accounting and financial analysis. You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks and end-of-month accounting tasks like analysing the P&L and producing financial reports.
This role provides a perfect opportunity for the right candidate who wants to take the next step in their career in accounting and expand their experience within a multi-service company. Previous experience in the cleaning and security industries will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- assisting in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
- preparing financial statements for presentation to the Leadership Team and the Managing Director as well as and statutory bodies
- conducting financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking internal audits and undertaking financial due diligence for the purchase of businesses
- providing assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
- preparing tax ready financial reports to be finalised by our external accountant
- maintaining internal control systems
- analysing revenue, costs, gross margin reporting and customer contract performance reporting.
- preparing monthly management reporting pack for the senior leadership team.
- analysing customer contracts, trends, variances and formulating commercial plans to improve gross margins.
- annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, maintaining and updating the customer contract dataset.

Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Post Graduate qualifications in accounting, such as a master’s degree, will be highly regarded.
- At least 5+ years’ experience in accounting, preferably within a large soft services business.
- Must have very strong MS Excel skills and be highly analytical.
- Experience with security services and cleaning services payroll will be highly regarded.
- Experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, results driven and likes solving problems
- High attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
