Your new role


The Program Coordinator provides project management and program support to a key program for the organisation, coordinating the implementation and delivery of activities and tasks in order to meet established milestones and deliverables. They will ensure that projects are well planned, managed and evaluated. They will focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Project services and supporting operations, ensuring effective use of resources and best practice


The Program Coordinator will work under broad supervision with direction provided on key accountabilities. You will provide advice and resolve routine matters that may arise and collaborate with colleagues (often more senior) to resolve any complex matters. You will have discretion for innovation within these guidelines, provided that set priorities and deadlines are achieved in line with organisations protocols and policies.


Key responsibilities


  • Manage the development and implementation of project plans to meet stated objectives.
  • Project organisation and establishment.
  • Implement project governance and reporting processes to monitor progress and delivery.
  • Build relationships and manage stakeholder communication, including coaching and support.
  • Actively contribute to culture and values
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.


Required skills


  • Experience supporting projects and programs in an education, higher education or academic environment is highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a project throughout the project life cycle, including developing project documentation, following recognised standards and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting change, adapting, and improving services in response to internal and external client feedback, and in line with strategic goals.
  • Ability to effectively influence a diverse group of key stakeholders, including the ability to develop productive relationships.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated level of tact and discretion in dealing with a variety of matters
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to interpret stakeholder requirements and analyse business needs.
  • Proven ability to problem-solve and provide lateral solutions to obstacles.
