Position InformationSeven Hills West Public School is located in a well-established residential area in Sydney's west and is part of the wider Blacktown community (enrolment of 380 students, including mainstream classes, support classes for students with special learning needs and a preschool). The school is well supported by a diverse and multicultural community. The school has an increasing enrolment of students with a Language Background Other Than English (LBOTE), which currently stands at 74% and 19 students identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Seven Hills West Public School has a culture of high expectations, embracing the whole child and their development through a comprehensive range of extracurricular opportunities including those in creative arts and sport. Students enjoy a nurturing, stimulating and supportive school environment, where they learn and thrive in their interactions with staff and peers. An energetic and dedicated staff works collaboratively to enhance each student's wellbeing, helping them to achieve their full potential.
Selection Criteria
1. Approval to teach infants and primary (K-6) with demonstrated quality teaching practice in literacy and numeracy, leading to student achievement.
2. Demonstrated ability to differentiate the curriculum using evidence-based practices to program and support the needs of all students.
3. Demonstrated ability to use innovative practices to contribute to and develop programs that strengthen student well-being and increase engagement.
4. Highly developed communication, organisational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work flexibly as part of a collaborative team to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents and the broader community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
