About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Control Design Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of electrical control systems for our innovative downstream commercial petroleum equipment packages. You will work closely with the Manager Electrical and our wider team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control systems, including schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), preferably with Schneider equipment.
- Select and specify electrical components and equipment.
- Collaborate with our Operations Team and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met.
- Conduct testing and commissioning of control systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing control systems.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Minimum tertiary qualification of an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven experience in electrical control system design and PLC programming.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming languages and software, preferably with Schneider equipment.
- Familiarity with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet, Modbus).
- Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- It would be great if you also had Hazardous Area Design Experience and Qualifications
