The Privacy & Information Sharing Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards in information management and privacy functions. The officer will administer the privacy role in line with the Health Services Act (Vic), Privacy and Data Protection Act (Vic), Privacy Act (C’wealth) and related information sharing schemes.
This is a Permanent Part-time role (15.2 hours per week) spread over 3 days – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

As a skilled and experienced Privacy & Information Sharing Officer you will be working in a small but very supportive team. You will provide effective and high-quality support for the department, through;
- Providing privacy advice within the organisation
- Overseeing compliance and championing privacy laws and regulation requirements and best practice
- Actioning subpoenas and requests for information in accordance with strict timelines, relevant Acts, schemes, Windermere policies and applicable consumer impact risk assessments
- Co-ordinating the handling of internal and external privacy enquiries, privacy complaints, and requests for access to records and personal information as requested through individuals and or related authorities

Desired Skills and Experience
Key Selection Criteria:
- Relevant qualification, training and or experience in privacy and personal information management is essential
- Sound knowledge of relevant Acts & Regulations (especially privacy legislation at state and federal levels, and information sharing schemes)
- An understanding of privacy dispute resolution and complaint-handling methods and processes
- Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills
- An understanding of current issues in community service organisations relating to privacy and information management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly developed writing skills
- Demonstrated commitment to high quality services and a culture of continuous learning
- Understanding of risk management and consumer feedback systems of good practice
- Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the values that underpin the organisation
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple, complex demands and meet timelines
- Willingness to promote and support practices that are inclusive, culturally responsive, safe and accessible.
- Willingness to undertake pre-employment screening - Working with Children, Police check and medical assessment.
- Current Victorian Drivers’ Licence.
- Right to Work in Australia e.g. Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
