About the role: The core function of the CAD Drafter will be to provide drafting support to the Engineering department on projects in the energy and renewable sector working primarily on Substations and BESS facilities but not limited to. The ideal candidate will embrace Technology together with drive to implement new work methods embracing continuous improvement. Day to day you will:- Collaborate with engineers and other key stakeholders to develop detailed engineering drawings covering a multitude of deliverables such as civil layouts, building plans and elevations, structural and steel detailing, civil detailing, footing detailing and BOMs.
- Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and designs.
- Review documentation for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards, codes and regulations.
- Update and modify project documentation, including design changes and revisions based on feedback from engineers and design managers.
- Participate and support the implementation and management of CAD systems, process documentation.
- Minimum 2 years’ civil/structural drafting experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience with utility or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Strong Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar).
- Accuracy, attention to detail and well organised
- Work with a team, independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Driven, motivated and willing to learn
- Professional qualification in drafting or equivalent level of skills and knowledge gained through experience.
- Class C Drivers Licence.
- May be required to travel Intra/interstate
- May be required to work after hours on occasions
- May be required to stay away overnight
