Our client is seeking an experienced Team Leader / Leading Hand – Marquees and Pavilions to join their team in Darwin. This full-time role involves leading the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of temporary event structures for some of the Northern Territory’s most celebrated events, including the Darwin Cup Carnival, V8 Supercars, Greek Glenti, Italian Festival, Palmerston Christmas Wonderland, Bass in the Grass, and Bombing of Darwin commemorations.

With over 45 years of experience, our client is the largest supplier of temporary event infrastructure in the Northern Territory. From large-scale festivals to intimate gatherings, they provide marquees, pavilions, furniture, staging, lighting, and more. Based in Darwin, they serve clients across the NT and northern regions of WA, SA, and QLD.
Role Overview
This hands-on position reports to the Operations Manager and involves supervising a team to deliver high-quality event infrastructure. The role offers a mix of traditional business hours with occasional early mornings, evenings/nights, and weekend work based on event schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise teams with varying skill levels.
- Install, dismantle, and maintain marquees, pavilions, tents, stages, dance floors, carpet tiles, and other temporary structures.
- Coordinate delivery, setup, and return of hire inventory.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently while maintaining high standards.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be reliable, physically fit for hands-on work, detail-oriented, and flexible with work hours to meet event demands.
Essential Requirements:
- At least 3 years’ experience working with marquees/pavilions (assembly and dismantling, especially Hoecker “F” and “P” series).
- Proven ability to lead installation/dismantling teams with varied skill levels.
- Valid manual driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- White Card (Construction Induction Training).
- MR/HR License.
- EWP Ticket.
- WP Licence.
- Forklift Licence.
- Riggers/Dogman Licence.
- First Aid Certificate.
