We have a temporary AO7 Principal Communications Officer role at Department of Environment, Tourism Science and Innovation. Our successful applicant will be providing strategic communications advice and leading the development and implementation of integrated marketing and communications strategies across our portfolio areas of environment, tourism, science and innovation.We're looking for someone who has senior level experience managing communications strategies and advertising campaigns, has project management experience, is solutions focused and a strong collaborator.

As The Principal Communications Officer (AO7) You Will
- Lead, plan and implement high level, wide-reaching integrated marketing, advertising and communications strategies
- Take personal responsibility for accurate completion of work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple complex deliverables and communications issues
- Provide strategic solution based advice including making decisions on what matters should be escalated to a senior level
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Foster a workplace culture that supports and promotes the interests of First Nations people.
- Extensive knowledge of, and senior level experience in communications including managing advertising campaigns, contentious issues or multi-faceted communication strategies.
- Expert problem-solving skills to devise and deliver appropriate actions, provide contingencies in the absence of complete information and in times of uncertainty.
- Proven ability to quickly build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and colleagues in order to provide advice and influence communication strategies.
- Very strong interpersonal skills incorporating expert personal communication techniques including complex influencing strategies.
- Knowledge of the workings of government, parliamentary processes and public sector principles.
