About the Position

Our Parks and Sustainability Business Unit has an exciting opportunity for a Team Leader Streetscape Horticulture to join the team, providing horticultural services and landscape maintenance to streetscapes and facilities across the City. Key responsibilities include plant operation, tree and shrub planting, mulching and general labouring duties.

Key Responsibilities

The duties of the Team Leader Streetscape Horticulture will include but are not limited to:

  • Undertake routine or reactive maintenance works in accordance with landscape maintenance schedules or as directed by the Supervisor, Streetscape Horticulture, and report progress and completion of works on a daily basis.
  • Provide advice, guidance and direction to trainees and Streetscape Horticulture Operators (including agency staff) on agreed service levels and horticultural practices. Leading by example, and ensure knowledge is transferred to employees in the Streetscape Horticulture Unit. Monitor performance including manage team member behaviour issues with a fair approach.
  • Develop forward plans for landscape rejuvenation initiatives with the Supervisor, Streetscape Horticulture.

About You

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Amenity) or demonstrated equivalent competency.
  • Certificate in Basic Worksite Traffic Management.
  • Seeking a self-starter with sound horticultural knowledge who can independently make decisions and take proactive action.
  • Capability to inspire and motivate the team, fostering a positive work environment.

This permanent full-time position is a Level 6 Outside Workforce Agreement positions which attract a salary from $75,442 gross pro rata per annum plus superannuation.

To be eligible to work for us, you need to provide, or have ability obtain a:

  • A copy of Australian driving licence
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 3 months)
  • Pre-Employment Medical and DAS clearance
  • The right to work in Australia
