About the role
We are currently looking for Senior Structures Engineers to join our team based in Sydney and Brisbane. As a member of the Airframe Structures Team, the positions are responsible for providing structures engineering support on our commercial and military fixed wing programs. Reporting to your Team Lead and guided by your Technical Lead, this role is responsible for working as a Senior Engineer within the Structures team, using your significant technical experience to develop, approve and assist team members to deliver design solutions in a safe, practical and agile manner.
About you
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement to be able to work in a team environment, have well developed relationship skills as well as good verbal and written skills. You will need to be someone who is able to work autonomously and to tight deadlines and work comfortably in a continuous improvement work environment. The skills and experience best suited to this role:
* 8+ years professional experience working in an aviation commercial or military field as a practicing Structures / Stress Engineer
* significant aerospace stress analysis experience for repair and/or new designs, including static strength analysis (metallic/composite), fatigue and damage tolerance analysis; FEM & CATIA V5 skills
* Knowledge of airframe structural principles related to materials, manufacturing processes, through-life airframe sustainment, with awareness of commercial aspects
* Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations (e.g., DASR, EASA, CASA, FAA, Transport Canada, etc.), standards and best practices
* Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or compatible discipline from nationally accredited program or equivalent
* Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build long-lasting, collaborative relationships with peers and interdependent functions; and manage conflicting priorities within a matrix organisation
