THE POSITION:
The position will be responsible for undertaking on ground works associated with AlburyCity's Natural Areas network. The position will assist in the protection, restoration and maintenance of natural areas, reserves and landscapes and land management projects.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in undertaking on ground protection, rehabilitation and maintenance works for AlburyCity's natural areas, reserves other public spaces
- Participation in the timely completion of work activities across the Natural Area network including revegetation activities, fencing, fauna monitoring and pest plant and animal control
- Participate in the planning, implementation and maintenance of revegetation and regeneration projects
- Assist in identifying and controlling pest plants and animals across the Natural Area network
- Participate in fuel hazard management and reduction activities
- Assist in the implementation of management actions from the Regional Natural Environment Strategy, AlburyCity's Natural Areas Management Strategy, AlburyCity's Revegetation Plan and other management strategies and plans as directed
- Under direction, respond appropriately to customer requests and complaints in accordance with AlburyCity's Customer Experience Charter
- Assist in ensuring project operations comply with relevant Standards, Statutory Acts, guidelines, regulations, approvals, policies and procedures.
- In consultation with the Leading Hand Natural Areas, attend meetings as directed and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders and user groups to achieve desired outcomes
- Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
- Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on a 38 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines. These times may vary due to operational requirements and will be determined by the supervisor.
- This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 38 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor.
- In line with the provisions of the Local Government (State) Award, this position will receive the Level 1, Adverse Working Conditions Allowance.
- This position requires you to wear a compulsory uniform as per AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position will be provided with vaccination against the following infectious diseases:

- This position involves working in a predominantly outdoor environment where a varying range of temperatures, weather conditions and walking surfaces may be experienced. The position requires a moderate level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake regular physical activities such as walking, lifting, pulling, pushing along with the capacity to maintain normal manual handling tasks across the work day - depending on the nature of the tasks undertaken. The use of relevant work method statements and appropriate WHS standards are an integral part of the role. A full functional and medical assessment is required for this position.
- This position is subject to preemployment and ongoing audiometric (hearing) assessment in accordance with AlburyCity Procedures

- This position is located at Albury City's Wagirra Depot 2244 Riverina Highway, West Albury with frequent visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- TAFE qualification in Natural Resource Management or Conservation and Land Management or related discipline or relevant work experience
- AQF -3 Chemical Handling Certificate or equivalent
- Class C (standard) drivers' licence (compulsory to have and maintain)
DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Construction Induction Card (compulsory to have and maintain)
- Basic Wildfire Awareness or Prescribed Burning Competency
- Chainsaw Level 1
- 4WD and Off Road Driving Certificate
- Traffic Control Card or Traffic Control Work Training Card
EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant Natural Resource Management industry experience
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools such as brush cutters and chainsaws
- Experience in identifying and control of pest plant and animal species
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
