THE POSITION:
The MAMA Marketing and Communications Officer, working within the Engagement Team, extends the reach of the museum through its digital
channels. This position delivers the museum’s marketing strategy, manages the museum website, as well as producing rich and
engaging content that connects the museum to its digital audience.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate the museum’s advertising and marketing activity
- Manage the MAMA website and drive development of digital content for this platform
- Manage the museum’s social media channels and digital communities.
- Coordinate electronic direct mail marketing
- Manage media and PR activity on behalf of the museum
- Develop content plans for all digital channels that builds audience and shares museum activities and messages in authentic ways.
- Provide general communications support to the MAMA team as needed.
- Ensure stakeholders have access to up-to-date communications material.
- Ensure high communications (digital and print) standards are maintained internally and externally. Monitor use of Style Guide and assist with the development of brand resources.
- Ensure content is accessible and inclusive
- Assist MAMA's senior management team in the planning and execution of specialist projects and campaigns.
- Coordinate budget, spending, and financial processes. Maintain orderly records.
- Maintain best practice with image handling, protecting copyright and advocating for artists rights
- Promote a cohesive and inclusive working environment by working collaboratively with staff, contractors and volunteers across the museum
- Maintain an up-to-date and holistic understanding of the museum’s objectives through a proactive engagement with museum activities and programs.
- Monitor emerging trends and best practices within the arts sector relevant to communications and digital content
- Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
- Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:
- Based on a 35 hour week, working a minimum of 28 hours per week, Monday to Friday with actual days and times to be negotiated with the supervisor.
- Additional hours up to 35 hours per week may be worked by agreement and paid at the ordinary rate of pay.
- This position may involve work outside normal working hours. Additional hours over the standard 35 hours will attract a time in lieu arrangement or payment of overtime rates as agreed in advance with your supervisor.
- This position does not require you to wear a compulsory uniform, however you must follow the dress code requirements within the AlburyCity’s Our People Dress Code Standards. Our People are required to present a smart and professional image to the public at all times including when in public and when working remotely.
- This position involves working in a predominantly indoor environment and using a computer is considered a core component of the role. There may be occasional visits to other work locations. The position requires an average level of aerobic and physical fitness to undertake occasional physical activities, including manual handling tasks as part of a normal working environment. A medical declaration will be required to be completed prior to commencement.
- This position requires evidence of a current Australian National Police Check.

- This position is located within the Murray Art Museum Albury MAMA with occasional visits to external sites/depots and AlburyCity Administration Building as required.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing / Communication or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE
- Experience writing on behalf of an organisation
- Experience planning and implementing marketing activities
- Experience in producing digital and print content
- Experience managing website content
- Appreciation for and understanding of the value of contemporary art to culture
SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Sound level of knowledge and understanding of:
- Graphic design and print production process.
- Producing high quality marketing collateral and content, within a corporate Style Guide.
- Understanding of digital marketing and ability to plan, write and publish web and social media content.
- Understanding of media landscape and ability to plan, write and deliver media releases, media kits, and PR
- Research and analysis skills, data driven evaluation.
- Understanding of the use of content management systems, electronic direct mail systems and Adobe Creative Suite
