The Opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Field Operative (Asset Protection) to join us in our Networks team in Eagle Farm, QLD, on a Permanent Full-time basis.

Reporting to the Asset Protection Supervisor, this role assists in the delivery of maintenance activities to meet and improve the standards in the following aspects of work: Health, Safety and Environment, cost avoidance, productivity, quality and service to customers and consumers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Locating network assets for APA in-house crews and/or contractors
  • Providing site watch support for third parties working around critical APA assets, supporting leak survey, cathodic protection and pipeline patrolling activities
  • Performing routine checks of all types of equipment associated with gas reticulation
  • Carryout patrolling and leak survey activities among various pipelines
  • Accurately locate both gas reticulation underground plant and that of other utilities using equipment provided and proving by hand excavation

Your background

  • Prior experience or skills in gas distribution and/or field maintenance activities
  • Blue Card (Industry HSE induction)
  • Able to work independently at times in remote locations
  • Ability to effectively interact with customers on a daily basis
  • Accurately read and interpret maps/plans

Networks manages and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.
