Role Description
This is a part-time role (15-20 hours per week over 3 days) for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant at Fleetware. The accountant will be responsible for managing our financial operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in bookkeeping, reporting and financial analysis, as well as a strong understanding of local tax obligations, including BAS & PAYG submissions.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
- Process supplier invoices, payments and employee reimbursements.
- Generate and issue customer invoices and manage collections.
- Perform monthly bank, credit card and account reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow and prepare regular forecasts.
- Process monthly payroll and ensure compliance with Australian tax laws and superannuation requirements.
- Prepare and lodge BAS and PAYG accurately and on time.
- Oversee inventory tracking and cost management.
- Manage purchase orders and supplier relationships.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets and cash flow reports.
- Conduct deal level profitability reviews and variance analysis and provide insights to management.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CA qualification (preferred but not essential).
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in an Australian business environment.
- Experience with Zoho business management suite (preferred but not essential).
- Strong understanding of Australian tax laws, payroll processes and BAS submissions.
- Advanced skills in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel.
