Monitoring Compliance
• Monitoring compliance with Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006.
• Monitoring compliance of cultural heritage management plans, cultural heritage permits Aboriginal cultural heritage land management agreements, and any other cultural heritage agreements
• Issuing and delivering 24-hour stop orders and improvement notices.
• Leading or assisting Investigations of suspected offenses against the Act
• Directing the conduct of cultural heritage audits
• When required by the First Peoples State Relations Secretary, reporting on the carrying out by the Authorised Officer of his or her functions under this Act.
• Oversight and support the curation, custody, and repatriation of Aboriginal cultural heritage material for the EMAC RAP area.
• Participate in training sessions as required.
Mandatory reporting
• Attend, when required, meetings with Cultural Heritage Advisers, at the direction of the EMAC Cultural Heritage Manager, in relation to Cultural Heritage Management Plans and fieldwork.
• Report when required to First Peoples State Relations and EMAC managers.
Policy and process development and opportunity
• Develop policies and processes that aim to strengthen and support the efficient management of the EMAC Cultural Heritage Branch functions in accordance with the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 and best practices in cultural heritage management.
• Analyse, collect, prepare and provide accurate information, reports, correspondence, and other documents such as key metrics and insights in accordance with delegations and reporting timeframes as required.
