The Audit and Compliance Officer supports the Manager, Audit, Risk & Compliance and relevant Managers, in providing a range of best practice specialist services to assist the Institute to ensure the maintenance of Institute, state and commonwealth reporting and compliance requirements.
The Audit and Compliance Officer has an active role in complex audit matters, and uses creative problem solving and well developed consulting skills to seek solutions. The position will assist the Manager, Audit, Risk & Compliance with the review, development and implementation of strategies to ensure compliance actions as a result of audits are completed in a timely manner. The position contributes to the development, review and implementation of Institute policies and is a source of advice and support in the interpretation of applicable legislative requirements. Whilst providing specialist advice to the organisation, the Audit and Compliance Officer may undertake specific audit projects on an as needed basis.
The must haves
Mandatory requirements
- Degree in commerce / business and suitable experience, or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience and expertise in an internal auditing environment
- A current Drivers Licence.
- Employee Victorian Working with Children and satisfactory Police Check
- Substantial experience using Microsoft Office products and relevant industry software and programs
- Experience in an educational environment including knowledge of the Victorian TAFE system and the national Vocational Education and Training sector.
