HR Consulting Melbourne is a fast-growing human resource consulting business that solves HR problems, builds organisational capability, and improves business performance.
We provide generalist human resource services to start-up, small and medium-size organisations across a diverse range of sectors and industries. Located in Melbourne and North East Victoria, we provide support to both metropolitan and regional clients.
We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced human resource advisors or consultants wanting to develop breadth in their generalist career in a growing and supportive team on a part time or full time basis.
About the Role
This role provides consulting advice across all elements of the employee life cycle including workforce planning, recruitment and selection, employee relations, health, safety and welfare, organisational development, change and remuneration and benefits.
Reporting to the Director for guidance and support and working with others you will be:
- liaising with clients to understand their business and human resource needs, reviewing workforce data and preparing human resource action plans to mitigate financial, reputational and safety risk and meet business objectives
- working with hiring managers leading client recruitment, selection and onboarding experience
- providing advice and guidance including award coverage and interpretation, attendance and performance improvement and management, workplace grievances, investigations and disciplinary matters
- researching, developing and maintaining best practice policies, procedures, guidelines and processes which enable greater line management accountability and understanding of contemporary human resource management practices
- contributing to the development of values-based culture and capability building initiatives including leadership and management, performance review and development, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, reward and recognition programs
In this role you need be flexible and comfortable with working in a variety of settings on a number of different things at once. You will be required work on client sites to attend meetings, run workshops and work on a range of HR matters.
On site visibility is important to us and our clients, this may mean working a combination of remotely or onsite work with fixed days at 2 or 3 different client sites each week.
About You
You have a service orientation, a desire to add value, make an impact and a passion for working with people. To be successful in this role you:
- are degree qualified in employment law, human resources or industrial relations
- understand modern awards and enterprise agreements and their interaction with employment legislation
- have at least 5+ years generalist experience supporting the development and delivery of programs, frameworks, processes and tools
- are a self starter, can self manage, work independently and collaboratively within a team and diverse clients as required
- are familiar with, or accredited, in diagnostic tools such as DISC, TMS and Human Synergistics
- are tech-savvy and know your way around the MS 365 apps and business collaboration tools such as Asana
- want to learn how to use; or build on what you already know, about how cloud-based systems such as Employment Hero can support businesses with compliance and their employment brand and experience
- are self-motivated, proactive and can manage your time to complete tasks and projects to deliver outcomes
- are interested in developing your profile, professional practice and network through peak bodies such as the AHRI and AITD
