The Role

As the Logistics and Accounts Assistant, you’ll be a key team member, delivering essential administrative and logistical support across DSS programs, ensuring smooth operations. This role, based in Perth’s new ‘Desert Hub,’ is crucial in assisting field staff, clients, consultants, and stakeholders as they work with Traditional Owners to implement Traditional Owner led programs in desert communities.

What We’re Looking For

To excel in this role, you’ll bring a mix of skills and experience that demonstrate your ability to adapt to a dynamic, community-focused environment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to follow instructions with attention to detail while taking initiative to manage tasks independently.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with experience prioritising workloads and meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Proactive approach to managing data, records, and documents.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully and professionally with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) to manage financial tasks, data entry, and reporting.
  • Prior experience coordinating logistics for travel, resource allocation, projects and events.

Desirable Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration or a related qualification.
  • Experience working within an Aboriginal or culturally diverse organisation.
  • Familiarity with the not-for-profit sector and experience supporting multiple departments or clients.
