Job Description

YOUR ROLE


The Manager, Child Safety will manage, mitigate and report on the risks associated with Child Safety across MACS. The incumbent will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Catholic education and a capacity to realise that mission in the context of MACS Strategic Plan which promotes strong, shared leadership and a culture of creativity and innovative practice. The Manager, Child Safety is responsible for delivering key proactive strategies and initiatives that will strengthen capability and capacity to foster a strong child safety culture.



WHAT YOU WILL DO



  • Lead the development and implementation of a MACS-wide Child Safety strategy to foster a strong child safety culture.
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to Victorian Child Safe Standards and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Oversee the triaging, investigation, and resolution of Child Safety incidents across MACS.
  • Lead initiatives to educate and enhance the understanding of Child Safety policies, responsibilities, and best practices among MACS employees.
  • Work with internal and regional stakeholders to coordinate training, communication, and workflow improvements for Child Safety.
  • Prepare and present reports on Child Safety risks, trends, and improvements to the Child Safety & Risk Committee and MACS Board.


ABOUT YOU



  • You have a deep understanding of Child Safety legal and regulatory frameworks, including the Victorian Child Safe Standards, and how they apply in an education setting.
  • You bring extensive experience in handling and overseeing Child Safety incidents, with a strong ability to assess risks and ensure compliance with policies.
  • You have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, allowing you to influence and engage school leaders, staff, and other stakeholders to drive a child safety culture.
  • You are a problem-solver who can develop and implement strategies to embed child safety into daily practices, ensuring continuous improvement across the organisation.
  • You have a proven ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, streamline workflows, and enhance organisational capability in Child Safety.
  • You align with the mission, values, and ethos of Catholic education, demonstrating integrity, respect, and excellence in all aspects of your work.
