About Your Opportunity
As Project Director – Water Security, you will lead and direct a significant portfolio of multi-billion-dollar infrastructure projects, implementing appropriate project management frameworks, tools, and protocols to improve the consistency and effectiveness. You will apply your proven leadership skills, implementing project management systems to monitor and control the effective delivery of critical water infrastructure projects within time, scope and budget, The role requires high level stakeholder management and will ensure that all safety, compliance and quality assurance requirements are met.
This role will initially lead our Advanced Water Treatment plant Project at Wyaralong.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the management, coordination and delivery of high value and complex Dam Improvement Projects in accordance with frameworks, industry best practice and statutory requirements to fully deliver significant projects safely and within scope and budget.

  • Oversee capital planning and construction activities to ensure that all phases of the dam improvement projects are completed within specifications and with minimal disruption to normal business activity.

  • Delivering high quality Project Management, Contract Administration and related services from project inception through to project completion.

  • Identify and define the major strategic issues for the organisation and integrate diverse stakeholder interests with the Government’s broader agenda to inform the development and prioritisation of project initiatives and to proactively understand and mitigate risks.

  • Develop and oversee project planning schedules including identification and management of risks, issues and constraints and establishment of contingency plans.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Engineering, Project Management or Economics or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Substantial experience in planning and delivering major projects, leading specialist teams and contractors for large water infrastructure and earthwork projects.

  • Substantial management knowledge and experience, including in operational planning processes and the coordination, preparation and administration of budgets.

  • Substantial industry and regulatory experience in understanding, interpreting and applying the principles of quality management to asset planning and delivery.

This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent full time role.
