Full-time (100%), fixed-term position for up to 12 months

Base salary will be in the range $91,658.60 - $98,330.37 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 6)

Based at our St Lucia Campus - Brisbane
The Senior Research Assistant will support high-quality research by applying expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods and providing support in data analysis and visualisation. To be successful in this position you will require great problem-solving skills and have a keen interest in learning more about the energy sector and energy transition.
Key responsibilities will include:

Support the project team with the analysis and visualisation of key research data.

Liaise with other researchers and external stakeholders, as required to scope, implement and communicate the research of the project team.

Assist the Centre Director and/or project team leaders to support other project and Centre-related research activities as required.

Assists with the development of research/analytical protocols, if required.
-
Contribute to project team communication materials, including journal papers and other non-academic publications.

Other duties, as reasonably directed.

Completion or near completion of a relevant degree, with exposure to data analysis and preferably coding.

Proficiency in or ability to learn coding (ideally Python, R, or Julia) for data manipulation, visualisation, and analysis.

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
-
Effective planning, task prioritisation, and ability to meet deadlines.
-
Flexibility to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including clear articulation of analytical results and documentation.

Willingness to develop research skills and a keen interest in the energy sector and energy transition.

Desirable - experience with data collation, quality assurance, spatial datasets, GIS software, or the energy/resources sector.
