The Senior Policy Officer (Resilience and Sustainability Division) develops, delivers and evaluates planning and/or policy projects. This includes the facilitation of policy initiatives and reforms that contribute to the Department’s planned outcomes and broader Government planning system objectives. The role also requires the development of advice regarding current and emerging issues to guide policy development.
You will demonstrate the ability to meet key challenges to include delivering quality work in a high-volume environment with tight timeframes, balancing diverse stakeholder interests, and translating complex technical information into clear, plain English policy documents to achieve project objectives.
Develop and deliver the facilitation of policy initiatives and reforms that contribute to the Department’s planned outcomes and broader Government planning system objectives and advice regarding current and emerging issues to guide policy development for people and communities of NSW.

What you will bring to the role:
Demonstrated understanding of New South Wales government processes and policy making.
What is an essential requirement:
Tertiary qualification in public policy, planning, law, economics, ecology, environmental science or other relevant discipline or equivalent experience, including natural hazard, resilient places and biodiversity and conservation in planning.
