Join as a Policy & Project Officer, within the Energy Programs team at The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, where you’ll be driving impactful strategic projects! With a focus on policy delivery, project management and collaboration, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes to help shape the future of environmental and energy initiatives.
About the Role
The role involves coordinating and managing a variety of projects, providing policy analysis and advice to support the development and delivery of strategic initiatives. You will be responsible for maintaining project documentation, monitoring progress, and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards, following established project management methodologies. You will also collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating meetings and consultations, and providing timely, relevant analysis on policy and program issues.
Key tasks include preparing and maintaining project documentation for reporting and evaluation, sourcing and compiling data to track project progress, and preparing briefs, reports, and discussion papers. You will need to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, research and analyse information, and develop strategic recommendations. Flexibility and the ability to manage competing priorities in a high workload environment are essential.
About You
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in project and policy management, particularly within the context of contemporary government policies and community dynamics. You should be adept at navigating complex policy landscapes, with a strong ability to manage projects from start to finish.
Relevant experience is valuable, as well as a passion for driving meaningful change in the environmental and energy sectors. Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills will set you apart in this dynamic role.
Key skills –
- Relevant experience in program and project management
- Thorough understanding of grant management practices and the NSW Governments Grants Administration Guide
- Experience in the use of Content Manager 10
