Overview of the role
Kick-start your procurement career with this 12 month fixed term contract working for one of the largest Insurers in Australia!
If you have a background in operations, call centre or analytics, combined with strong communication skills then this is a unique opportunity to move into procurement and learn from a well-established team of procurement professionals.
You will be the first point of contact in the end-to-end management of queries to do with the procurement system, process or policy by phone, email and other channels (approx. 320+ emails queries in addition to telephone queries.).
Working in a small close-knit team you will be fully supported for any points of escalation. You will have exposure across a wide range of procurement areas enabling you to broaden your skills and take your procurement career to the next level.
What you’ll do:
As the first point of contact for the procurement mailbox you will be responsible for:
- End-to-end management of queries to do with internal procurement system, process or policy by phone, email and other channels (MS Teams, yammer etc)
- Work closely with offshore Genpact Procurement Operations team and Payment Services team to provide complete solutions to queries
- Escalation point to investigate and manage urgent contract execution, Purchase Order processing, payment enquiries or processing challenges
- Facilitate efficient and effective engagement with offshore procurement partners
- Support and assist Category and Sourcing Managers with purchasing resolution, customer feedback, contract and supplier management
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience working in an operations, call-centre or analytics
- Knowledge of procurement would be beneficial but is not essential
- Highly developed customer focused approach with advanced analytical skills
- Adaptable and supportive of a fast changing, continuous improvement culture
- Strong oral and written communication skills to achieve work outcomes and maintain effective work and stakeholder relations
- Ability to deal with a range of issues that may involve uncertainty and require a multi-disciplinary solution
- Excellent PC skills, particularly with the full Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Ability to cope with pressure while collaborative and consultative; deadline and accuracy driven
