Summary:
The Finance Officer is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the organization by performing a variety of accounting, administrative and support tasks. This role requires strong attention to detail, lateral thinking, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable:
- Processing invoices,
- Ensuring proper coding and authorization.
- Managing vendor relationships and resolving invoice discrepancies.
- Preparing and processing payments.
- Maintaining accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
- Troubleshooting
- Supplier statement reconciliation
Accounts Receivable:
- Generating and sending invoices to clients.
- Processing customer payments and reconciling accounts.
- Following up on overdue payments.
- Maintaining accurate records of accounts receivable transactions.
Reconciliation:
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Payroll:
- Processing payroll, including timesheet reconciliation, calculating wages, taxes, and deductions.
- Maintaining payroll records.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant payroll regulations.
General Accounting:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Performing general ledger entries.
Administrative Support:
- Providing general administrative support to the finance department.
- Filing and organizing financial documents.
- Assisting with other duties as assigned.
Person specifications:
- Proven experience in a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, Employment Hero, Airwallex, Xero).
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
