Join our Rehabilitation Centre Team as a Occupational Therapist!
The Trevor Parry Community Rehabilitation Centre offers live-in rehabilitation in Noarlunga. The centre has purpose built accommodation for people who have difficulty living unassisted in the community due to their mental health.
Support includes helping people with their own goals and assisting with the development of skills to improve daily living.
About the role:
Reporting to the Trevor Parry Centre Team Manager, this role you will be working in the Community Rehabilitation Centre team, the Occupational Therapist undertakes clinical care coordination and is responsible for the delivery of a range of other clinical activities, including rehabilitation, care planning, clinical review, psychosocial assessment and Mental Health Assessments pertaining to the CRC operational protocol.
Duties for the role will include:
- Undertaking assessments and planning positive outcome-focussed interventions with each consumer within a case load,
- Linking and co-ordinating an appropriate range of resources and specialist and general services within and across sectors working towards integrated rehabilitation planning,
- Providing or arranging services which develop the consumers’ skills of living, enhance capacity for independence and increase life skills,
- Providing supervision of junior Occupational Therapy staff and students.
About you:
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia,
- Must be highly motivated and can engage with consumers who have extremely high service needs,
- Competent in comprehensive mental health assessment skills including, consumer needs analysis, mental state assessment, risk assessment,
- Extensive experience in engaging consumers in therapeutic working relationships with consumers having enduring and severe disability and complex needs, and their carers,
- Successful participation in a multidisciplinary team environment.
