About the role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance/Process Operator to join our night shift team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment and processes within our Egg Processing facility. You will play a crucial role in ensuring production goals are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and technical skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues to minimise downtime. This is a Permanent Night Shift position, offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a collaborative and fast-paced team.
What you’ll do
- Operate and monitor production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Adjust equipment settings to optimise performance and product quality.
- Set up equipment for the next shift and ensure smooth handovers.
- Drive forklifts to move pallets and equipment as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on machinery.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process issues to minimise downtime.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Monitor product quality and make necessary adjustments to meet specifications.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to resolve issues and improve processes.
About You
Are you a hands-on problem solver with a solid understanding of machinery and a passion for keeping operations running smoothly? We’re looking for someone like you—someone with mechanical and technical know-how, ideally from a food production, dairy, or FMCG background, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’re self-driven, a good communicator, and can troubleshoot and resolve issues on your own without being micromanaged. What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a maintenance or process operation role, ideally in food production, dairy, or FMCG.
- Strong mechanical and technical skills with a solid understanding of industrial equipment and systems.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving operational issues independently.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in an industrial environment.
- Proficient in time management, with the ability to balance multiple tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills with a self-driven, easy-going attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to lift and perform physically demanding tasks, and work in various environments, including confined spaces.
- Willingness to work night shifts, with occasional public holiday coverage.
- Exposure to SCADA systems or strong computer skills would be an advantage.
