About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team, based at our Headquarters in Gillman. You will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger accounts and fixed asset registers with a particular focus on key spend areas of motor vehicle expenses, fuel and external carriers.

In addition, you will support the finance operations ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, preparing account reconciliations, reporting and analysis to support weekly and monthly management reporting requirements.

About You

  • Bachelor of Accounting or Commerce (desirable).
  • Prior experience with general ledger, fixed asset management, and accounts payable.
  • Skilled in managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when processing and analyzing high-volume transactions.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with a solid background in reconciliation processes and resolving discrepancies.
  • A focus on process improvement, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to drive change.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team, effectively managing multiple demands and maintaining focus.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experienced with finance and business systems software.
