This encompasses developing operational plans and budgets, managing physical and human resources, prioritising, allocating and monitoring activities and work tasks, and providing leadership to team members.
  • Manage requests for formal legal advice, including holdings of advice received.
  • Manage key external relationships and negotiations between the Department and the Office of the Solicitor General, the Office of the Crown Solicitor, the State Litigation Office, and the Director of Public Prosecutions to ensure a consistent, coordinated and effective approach to the provision of State Growth legal services.
  • Manage the Department’s contact with external legal bodies, including the Ombudsman, Coroner, and Integrity Commission.

  • Foster and sustain productive partnerships within the Department, across other government departments and relevant external organisations to understand broader whole of government issues and other factors that impact the management of the Department’s legal obligations. This will necessitate representing the Department at inter-agency meetings, forums and advisory groups.
