Engineering Technical Officer

Armidale Regional Council
Armidale Full-day Full-time

Description:

Help make a difference in transport safety and service delivery.

In this role, you’ll schedule and oversee inspections for roads and drainage infrastructure, conduct traffic management assessments, and even prepare grant applications for road safety programs. Your expertise will guide our data collection efforts and support decision-making around traffic management.

We're also looking for someone who can manage budgets for minor projects and ensure compliance with local regulations. Building strong relationships with stakeholders is key, so your ability to engage with the community and present findings effectively will be essential.

To thrive in this position, you’ll need a Certificate IV in Civil Construction or a similar qualification, along with at least five years of experience. Familiarity with relevant legislation, such as the Roads Act 1993 and the Austroads Guide to Road Safety, is a must.

At the Council, we prioritise a supportive and collaborative work environment.

You'll have opportunities for professional development and career growth while contributing to the safety and well-being of our community.

If you’re ready to take on this rewarding challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Why join us?

• Become an integral part of the Armidale community, engaging with diverse residents, businesses, and stakeholders, and helping shape a positive future for our region.

Our culture is such that values and behaviour-based leadership are the norm. Saying what you mean, meaning what you say, and doing what you say you will do, are the key elements to success moving forward.

We are committed to diversity and have a values-based culture that has been driven by supporting and unsupported behaviours developed collaboratively by all staff. Individuals will be respected and listened to no matter their status or position within the organisation.
