We are seeking to fill the positions of Senior Case Coordinator (ASC Grade 6) and Case Coordinator (ASC Grade 5) to support the delivery of the ASC Restorative Program. We are committed to providing meaningful acknowledgement, care and support to former Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) athletes who experienced harm in the past. We offered a public apology in May 2021 and established the Program in 2022. The ASC is committed to using insights from this Program to learn from our past and inform future safeguarding practices.


About the team – The Safeguarding and Integrity Team enable and support the ASC to comply with legislative and policy requirements for safeguarding and integrity on our sites and in our operations. The team has a specific focus on our child and athlete safe obligations and delivers the ASC Restorative Program. Our team are empathetic, dedicated and committed to providing quality service to all stakeholders.

About the role – The Case Coordinator is responsible for delivering a safe and supportive end-to-end experience for people participating in the Program. The role requires empathy, excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a small team to share insights and foster a learning environment.

About you – the Program is committed to providing holistic, safe, trauma-informed services to support people through a restorative process. We are looking for someone who can:

  • Provide end-to-end case management service to clients in a busy environment.
  • Deliver case co-ordination and case tracking to ensure seamless client service provision, including referral to other services.
  • Implement risk planning for clients with complex needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders to provide whole of person care.
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity at each interaction when supporting clients and keep appropriate records and case notes using secure systems.
  • Contribute to the broader objectives of safeguarding and integrity within the team.

This position is offered as a FIXED TERM position until 31 December 2026 with the possibility of being extended or made ongoing.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position applicants are required to be Australian citizens only and must be able to obtain and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance.

As part of the Commonwealth Child Safety Framework the ASC is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and leading the way in Child Safety across the sports sector. This position requires a Working with Vulnerable/Children People check to obtain employment.


Notes

  • As part of this position, the role occupant may have access to sensitive, and potentially distressing information in the areas of sexual misconduct and child safeguarding.
  • The ASC is committed to protecting children from harm. We require all applicants that will work with children to undergo screening processes prior to appointment.
  • Should a merit pool be established for this position, it may be used to fill ongoing or fixed term opportunities as they arise within 18 months from the date advertised.
  • The ASC operates under the Australian Sports Commission Act 1989 and is separate to the Public Service Act 1999. The ASC accepts most leave liability and recognition of prior service if you are currently employed at a Commonwealth agency.
