DescriptionKey Responsibilities
Logistics Operations Management:
- Oversee end-to-end logistics for domestic and international markets, ensuring timely and efficient distribution.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize transport, and distribution costs.
- Manage freight forwarding, shipping schedules, and customs clearance processes.
- Liaise with transport providers, customs brokers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local and international laws.
- Ensure accurate documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, export declarations, and compliance certificates.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with Australian and international trade regulations, biosecurity, export requirements, and safety standards.
- Stay up to date with changes in trade regulations, tariffs, and free trade agreements.
- Develop risk management strategies to minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Oversee quarantine and customs compliance for international shipments.
- Experience with HACCP and BSM.
Cost Control & Process Improvement:
- Monitor and manage transport and logistics costs to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize transport and logistics processes.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics operations.
Stakeholder & Supplier Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Customer, suppliers, freight forwarders, transport providers, and government agencies.
- Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure the best value.
- Work closely with procurement, sales, and finance teams to align logistics strategies with business goals.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Foster a culture of trust, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training on logistics best practices and compliance requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety protocols.
- Identify and mitigate risks, promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
- Participate in audits and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5-7 years of experience in managing perishable domestic and export logistics, preferably within the food, manufacturing, or agriculture industries.
- Strong understanding of Australian and international trade regulations, export compliance, and supply chain logistics.
- Experience with freight forwarding, shipping documentation, and customs procedures.
- Proficiency in logistics and supply chain management systems.
- Strong negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
