As the Accountant for QCHF and see-u, you will support financial accounting, control and reporting, ensuring accurate and on time completion for entities within HBF Health Group. You will own and deliver all financial reporting and provide technical accounting support to the wider financial accounting team.

This role is available from either our Brisbane or Perth CBD offices.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and Process Accounting Entries / Journals: Accurately prepare, review, and post accounting entries in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform daily & monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Investigate and Resolve Variances: Identify, investigate, and resolve variances between actual and expected results to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Monitor General Ledger Accounts: Maintain and monitor general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded and aligned with financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist with Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation and analysis of the company’s annual budget and periodic forecasts, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Monthly Report Preparation: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring all data is complete, accurate, and meets internal reporting deadlines.
  • External Audit Support: Provide assistance and necessary documentation during the external audit process to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Statutory Reporting Support: Aid in the provision of information for statutory reporting & tax, ensuring that all financial data complies with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ad-Hoc Finance Projects: Support the finance department with various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed, including process improvements and system upgrades.

About You

You confidently demonstrate skills and practical exposure to financial reporting & accounting, in a corporate environment and are comfortable working both autonomously and collaboratively.
You have the ability to prioritise with demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills while consistently meeting outcomes within agreed timeframes and under time pressure.

You use strong communication skills to effectively build impactful stakeholder relationships, providing support and accurate advice.

You are qualified, working towards or willing to work towards a qualification in accounting (CA or CPA), with experience in a similar Accounting or Senior Bookkeeping role within a large organisation.
