About the Role

  • Apply research skills to assist with a range of project activities including preparing project documents for ethical review; support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander research governance; following research processes; participant screening and recruitment; data collection (yarning, surveys, data extraction); data entry (paper and computer based); maintenance of participant files; and producing reports on activities and progress as required.
  • Build and maintain strong community relationships to ensure high recruitment and retention of participants in the research projects and providing an important interface between the SQCoE and the Inala and Metro South Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
  • Provide cultural advice/mentoring on research (research ideas, research questions, process, data collection, data interpretation, dissemination of findings to community) to the Research and Education team, the broader SQCoE staff and collaborating research agencies.

This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the position to be filled by a candidate indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community. Candidates not meeting this criteria will not be considered.
