Based in the CBD with 2-days per week WFH, you'll assume leadership of the Finance team in the Australian entity of a global business. You will partner with a very experienced CFO as her 2IC, and she is committed to providing you with all the support, guidance, and development that you'll need whilst giving you the space and autonomy to make this position your own.

The CFO has an exceptional background that is a mix of international and Australian experience meaning that you'll get firsthand exposure to how a CFO within a global business operates. It also helps that she is great in person so not only will you develop your career, but you'll enjoy working with her and you'll form a strong relationship.

You will join a business that is supported by a larger global group (approx. EUR550m t/o) who provide stability and who are also committed to continued investment and subsequent growth here in Australia.

The business is growing and with growth comes change, and as such, you'll be at the forefront of transformation with a pending ERP implementation and your position in Finance will be key to the smooth adoption.

Who You Are:

We feel this position would suit a Senior FA taking their next career step, or an existing FM / FC who is in the early stages at this level.

You are a fully qualified accountant who is technically strong. You have previously taken responsibility for EOFY and EOM reporting, as well as being capable with AASB. In addition, you will have experience of audit liaison and statutory reporting. Prior team leadership is a must (it doesn't need to be a big team), and you will be capable of upskilling, mentoring, and providing feedback when required.

  • Fully qualified accountant
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance with AASB
  • The ability to navigate a changing, complex environment
  • Strong track record of tax filings and managing external audits
  • Team leadership; management, mentorship, and training
  • Strong Excel skills and system savvy

What You'll Do:

You will be essential to ensuring business continuity and supporting organizational growth. By maintaining strict compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal controls, this position guarantees accurate and timely financial reporting. Managing the accounting team's performance, you will oversee adherence to external and internal regulations. In addition, you will drive process improvements, facilitate budget and forecast processes, and contribute to the successful implementation of key projects such as the pending ERP transition.

Duties will include:

  • Team management; performance reviews, establishing best practice, driving efficiencies
  • Month and Year-end closing; reconciliations, journals, financial reporting
  • Leadership of the audit process and liaising with external auditors
  • Statutory reporting
  • Leading budgets & forecasting and providing clear, accurate projections for strategic growth.
  • Provide support for ERP rollout and ensuring full integration within Finance
