The Role
ABC News is looking for an accomplished investigative reporter to utilise a range of diverse contacts, sources and techniques to break stories for local and national audiences. Working with the Local Editor Northern Tasmania, TAS Deputy Editor and TAS News Editor they will deliver exclusive, engaging content for all platforms as part of the wider Tasmanian News team.
The Job
Generate exclusive stories for digital and broadcast platforms.
Write concise and accurate copy using creative storytelling techniques.
Collaborate with News teams, sharing experience and knowledge.
Manage editorial risks and adhere to ABC policies.
Create diverse stories and engage with regional communities.

About You
You are an experienced investigative reporter with a demonstrated ability to break exclusive stories that have statewide and national impact, which hold all levels of government to account.
You'll have:
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in journalism
Proven investigative reporting skills and ability to cover complex issues
Excellent writing and storytelling abilities across platforms
Strong communication and teamwork skills with effective stakeholder management
Ability to source and maintain a broad network of contacts across Australia
