Join our Occupational Therapy Acute Team as a Senior Occupational Therapist - Disability!
About the role:
Reporting to the Occupational Therapy Manager, under the supervision of the Disability Advanced Clinical Occupational Therapist, this role will work closely in collaboration with health, social and other services to optimise outcomes for clients. The role is responsible for providing specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention, assistive technology (AT) prescription, NDIS recommendations, and time limited case management to complex patients with Disability.
Duties for the role will include:
- Providing and promoting Occupational Therapy specialised assessments intervention, prescription and provision of specialised assistive technology,
- Leading effective complex discharge planning for patients with disability
- Accepting professional responsibility for a high standard of complex specialised work including providing advice to management on service development, practice and redesign in response to patient needs,
- Applying professional expertise in the provision of complex clinical consultancy services across SALHN
- Contributing to the development of an integrated multidisciplinary team approach for patients with disability
- In collaboration with management, developing appropriate clinical and administrative resources to support effective practice and services across SALHN.
About you:
- Appropriate degree or equivalent which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist by the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (OTBA),
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills including an ability to initiate and lead change that results in improved outcomes and facilitates continuous quality improvement,
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) with an ability to communicate with patients, carers, staff, and other internal and external stakeholders,
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience at a senior level,
- Extensive experience in working with adults with physical, intellectual and/or psychosocial disability requiring NDIS assessment, intervention and coordination.
