Your New Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead our construction business unit in the successful delivery of projects. This key role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in full compliance with legislation, standards, and company policies. You will oversee project planning, contractor management, and drive high-performing teams to achieve exceptional client relationships and project outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from ideation through to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget control, and adherence to compliance and quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring smooth contractor management and compliance with contracts, project requirements, and legislation.
- Oversee detailed Work In Progress (WIP) management, control operational expenses, assist with budgets, and achieve revenue targets for recharge services.
- Execute and monitor HSEQ activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and all relevant safety protocols, including risk management for high-risk activities.
- Supervise and motivate a team of Project Managers, Administrators, and Construction Supervisors, fostering a high-performance culture and professional behaviors in line with company values.
- Manage the tendering process, ensure competitive pricing, and report on project progress and financials to senior management.
- Engage in business process improvements, embracing change, and promoting sustainable growth within the organization.
- Be available to travel to sites within the region for short periods.
- Trade and tertiary qualifications in Construction or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years in construction project delivery, including leading teams and managing projects autonomously.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management frameworks, and contracts administration. Knowledge of legislation such as the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and Workplace Health and Safety standards is essential.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate teams, driving high performance and accountability.
- Current driver's license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to have challenging conversations when necessary.
- Strong computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Commercial Builder’s Licence (preferred but not essential).
- Knowledge of building repairs and general maintenance.
