About the opportunity

The primary goal of the lifestyle co-ordinator is to facilitate the process of empowerment and enable the residents to make choices and decisions which maximise their participation in leisure experiences that suits the Residents individual needs and maintains their dignity.
This is achieved through the planning, implementation and evaluation of both individual and group lifestyle and recreational programs that are designed to support, challenge and enhance the, social, emotional, spiritual, cultural, cognitive and physical well-being of individuals.
The Lifestyle Coordinator will have an important role in providing leadership to lifestyle assistants and volunteers. They will responsible for recruitment, training and coordination of Volunteers
Lifestyle Coordinators will be expected to lead in the provision of quality lifestyle programs to residents by ensuring their links and interests with the community, children, hobbies, flora and fauna. They will provide appropriate and timely documentation that meets regulatory requirements and work in consultation with the wider care team to provide relevant and timely information for the care planning process.

Importantly, all activities must be performed in accordance with the Mercy values of Stewardship, Respect, Innovation, Compassion and Teamwork.

  • Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.

  • The ability to nurture friendly, respectful relationships and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

You will also be required to provide evidence of, or in the process of obtaining:

  • A current Police Record Check/NDIS worker screening.

  • Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
