This is an exciting opportunity for exposure to a diverse range of subacute services, including rehabilitation, GEM (Geriatric Evaluation and Management) and palliative care. Rotations may be located at Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Hospital or the Repat Health Precinct.
About the role:
Reporting to the Director, Occupational Therapy in this role you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals to regain their independence and achieve their highest level of functional ability. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement personalised treatment plans, empowering clients to overcome physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges.
In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, fostering a compassionate and patient-centred approach to care. Your exceptional communication skills will enable you to build trusting relationships with patients and their families, ensuring their needs and goals are at the forefront of every intervention.
About you:
- A degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.
- Ability to undertake assessment and intervention with clients with a range of illness and disabilities relevant to older people and rehabilitation.
- Ability to provide clinical services as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to communicate with clients and a range of professional and other staff, orally and in writing, including in the provision of supervision to Allied Health Assistants and volunteers as required.
