Export Air Operations - 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

Description:

An opportunity exists for an experienced export airfreight operator to join this well-established global freight forwarder located in Botany. In the role you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of Export Airfreight shipments (and some Import Air). To be an eligible applicant you must previous experience working in freight forwarding operations (air). Will also consider experience in import air or export sea.
Duties & responsibilities include:

• Receiving bookings for export shipments
• Booking freight with airlines/forwarders
• Arranging transport/cartage
• Negotiate freight rates
• Preparing quotations to clients and overseas agents
• Preparing export documentation / clearance
• Approving supplier invoices & entering charges
• Liaising with clients, overseas agents, airlines, freight forwarders and internal departments

To be successful in this role the following are required:

• You must be available for the full 9 month contract
• Prior experience in export air operations (with some import air experience advantageous) - will also consider someone with import air or export sea experience instead
• CargoWise experience essential
• DG's certification highly regarded
• Good problem-solving skills
• Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Team player
