About the Role
CFA's Community Engagement team leads initiatives to support safer communities through:
* Exploration: Strategy analysis, business planning, and alignment.
* Creation: Developing solutions based on stakeholder needs.
* Empowerment: Building member skills for engagement.
* Enablement: Providing clear, timely messaging and guidance.
The Senior Engagement Advisor: People at Higher Risk focuses on reducing fire risks for vulnerable groups. This role collaborates with Community, Social Services, and Emergency Management sectors to ensure best-practice approaches and strategic program development, using diverse communication methods tailored to different audiences.
Key responsibilities of the role will include the following:
* Develop and enhance community engagement programs using innovative, participatory approaches to create effective solutions.
* Advise leadership and key stakeholders on fire risks affecting vulnerable groups, ensuring strategic and inclusive engagement.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners to expand engagement opportunities and improve service delivery.
* Support field engagement efforts, targeting high-risk communities and providing strategic insights on regional engagement plans.
* Manage projects, budgets, and reporting while influencing senior stakeholders and fostering collaboration.
About You
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (eg: social science, community engagement, community safety, project management) is preferred, and/or relevant industry experience (equivalent 3 years minimum).
* Demonstrated experience in inclusiveness and diversity and engaging high risk community groups.
* Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking and facilitation.
* Highly developed organisational and planning skills in the context of a complex, changing business environment requiring agility and flexibility.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at varying levels and seniority while maintaining effective working relationships.
* Ability to work autonomously across various locations across Victoria, while maintaining a strong presence within the team.
