Academic Quality and Standards (AQS) department provides advice and support to Colleges and organisational areas of the University across a number of policy and procedural settings which relate to the Higher Education Standards Framework and the regulatory environment which applies to Vocational Education and Training. AQS has a wide role in the learning and teaching environment at VU, playing a significant role in academic governance through policy development, monitoring, and direct reporting to the Academic Board.

About the Role:

The overall purpose of the Senior Coordinator, Governance is to coordinate the course governance processes within Victoria University TAFE and ensure that training products are registered internally and externally following appropriate quality and governance procedures.

The position will consult with other internal stakeholders to achieve and maintain high standards of quality and compliance with the relevant Vocational Education and Training Sector regulatory frameworks, requirements and standards.

Examples of duties you may perform are:

  • Coordination of course governance activities that ensure compliance with ASQA, ESOS Act, VET Funding Contract, VET Student Loans and University policies and procedures.
  • Manage Victoria University TAFE's scope of registration and CRICOS Register.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate internal course approvals documentation and procedures.
  • Support the Director of Academic Quality and Standards and the Chief TAFE Officer to apply and develop VU quality and compliance monitoring & reporting systems & procedures, including internal audits, to training and assessment services within TAFE at VU delivery areas.
  • Support the AQS team, including Quality Partners, to develop and implement effective, sustained and sustainable responses to identified quality, compliance, risks and needs that relate to the position

This is a full-time position at HEP 8 classification, with salary range of $108,472 - $122,154 per annum plus 17% superannuation, classification working 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week over a continuing contract period.

About the Person:

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A deep commitment to improving the experience and outcomes of learners
  • Extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of ASQA Standards, ESOS legislative framework, VET Funding Contract, VET Student Loans.
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • The capacity to contribute to transformational change with ‘built in quality’ and continuous improvement strategies.
  • A multi-sector perspective and understanding of key issues in VET and Higher Education, informing the development and implementation of initiatives.
  • The ability to understand, influence, and interact with shared services and systems across VU, impacting VET quality and compliance practices, teaching and learning, and OHS matters.
