Description:

ING Australia’s Wholesale Bank is seeking a passionate and entrepreneurial institutional real estate banker to join our Real Estate Sector Coverage team. This client-facing role involves originating, structuring, and executing lending transactions, as well as acting as a trusted advisor to our clients by bringing them the full range of wholesale banking products. You will collaborate with our product teams locally, regionally, and globally to originate local and international opportunities with a designated portfolio of Australia-based clients.

What you’ll do

  • Drive origination of new business (inbound and outbound) in Australia, manage client relationships and oversee deal execution.
  • Identify and originate cross-selling opportunities across the full range of the Bank’s offerings of various forms of lead-lending, financial markets, transaction banking, and advisory products.
  • Formulate client/sector strategy, lead origination efforts, lead deal structuring and guide deal team members, lead internal approval processes, and coordinate with relevant product teams to deliver multi-product solutions to clients to achieve cross-buy and return objectives.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of industry trends, banking products, and relevant regulations to understand the business of the Bank's clients and real estate transition developments.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain close relationships with clients as primary contact. Develop presentation materials and pitches to clients leading to new mandates.

What we’re looking for

  • 10+ years’ experience in a front office banking role with a well-established network within the institutional real estate industry in Australia.
  • Prior track record managing senior level (incl. C-suite) relationships and originating high value-added banking mandates in the Australian real estate market.
  • Good understanding of the commercial real estate sector dynamics, relevant trends (including sustainability) and financing structures.
  • Hands-on experience in the sector as a senior originator in all aspects from relationship buildout/management, effective pitching, and transaction execution.
  • Extensive experience in structuring and execution of real estate lending deals.
  • Strong understanding of core banking products (various forms of lending, Financial Markets, Global Capital Markets, Transaction Services, Advisory).
