We provide the framework for fair and productive relationships between employers and employees. We also oversee skills development and training initiatives to support those entering the workforce or re-training to take advantage of emerging employment opportunities.
With us, your work directly contributes to shaping the employment landscape. Whether you are engaging in policy development, program implementation, or direct support services, your efforts will have a tangible impact on job seekers, employees and the economy by giving them a framework to build a future anchored and realised through employment.
It is our ambition to do things differently, to create the ‘department of great jobs’– where our people reflect our purpose.
The Role
Trades Recognition Australia (TRA) is responsible for skills assessments for a range of technical and trade occupations under the Migration Regulations 1994, offering skills assessment services for people with trade skills gained overseas or in Australia, for the purpose of migration.
Skills assessments are intended to ensure a successful applicant can perform at the required skill level for their nominated occupation and provide assurance to government and to the individual that their training and experience is relevant and appropriate. A successful outcome will satisfy the skills assessment requirement for an application with the Department of Home Affairs for a relevant visa.
Reporting to your supervisor, you will assist with customer service support and responding to participant enquiries, along with a range of administrative support tasks. These entry level roles can be undertaken full time or part time, and we are open to working with you to fit around study or other schedules.
Entry level positions are available across several of our teams providing service delivery and administrative support at the APS3 level within TRA.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities of the APS Level 3 Assistant Service Delivery Officer may include:
- Communicating with people on a phone and by email, you will provide customer service support and assist with the resolution of customer enquiries on an enquiry line and via email.
- Following guidelines, with good attention to detail, and adhering to procedures, you will help with reviewing client documentation to make sure it is correct, and any supporting documents are submitted correctly to ensure proper assignment to a case officer.
- Being open to feedback, willing to take direction, and assist colleagues where needed. You will be comfortable being part of a team and assist with undertaking a range of entry level administrative support and general office duties.
- Being willing to contribute to achieving a positive and innovative organisational culture.
